Xiaomi launches 4 new vacuum robots to appeal to all budgets

On the occasion of its Discover conference in Milan, Xiaomi presented its future products, starting with 4 new robot vacuum cleaners. With these new references, the Chinese brand wants to impose itself on the entry level, but not only. Each model is aimed at a very specific budget.

On this Monday, May 22, 2023, Xiaomi met the press and fans in Milan for its annual edition of the Discover conference. The Chinese brand has unveiled several products geared towards electric mobility, such as the new Electric 4 and 4 Lite electric scooters.

But that’s not all since Xiaomi has also lifted the veil on four brand new robot vacuum cleaners. With these four new references, the manufacturer intends to impose itself on all segments, from entry-level to the highest budgets. But without further ado, let’s do a complete overview.

The X10, the new Premium model

Let’s start first with the Xiaomi X10, which has therefore established itself as an alternative to the X10+, a Premium model launched in 2022 and displayed at 899 €. To reach a price of 499 €, Xiaomi made some concessions on the X10. First of all, the emptying station is content this time with collect dustvia a 2.5L disposable dust bag. Additionally, the rotating pads gave way to a simple mop to wash the floor.

On the other hand, the X10 still benefits from a powerful mapping system using a laser rangefinder, which allows it to move around your home independently. We then find an armada of sensors (DLS laser, cliff sensor, infrared sensor and obstruction sensor). On the suction power and battery side, we still benefit of the 4000 Pa and the 5200 mAh battery of the X10+. On the other hand, the X10 can boast of having a slightly larger water tank than its big brother (200 mL).

The S10+ for the mid-range

Next we come to the S10+. Suggested to €449.99this mid-range model marks its difference by carrying the same X10+ rotating pad washing system. It also has an obstacle detection system at the front via lasers (no camera this time). Here again, the cartography is ensured by a laser range finder (LDS), while suction power and battery remain the same (4000Pa and 5200mAh). Concerning the station, it will be necessary to be satisfied with the strict minimum. No emptying here, since it is only used to charge the device.

The S12 and E12 for small budgets

Let’s continue now with the two new entry-level models presented by Xiaomi: the S12 and the E12. We can sum up the S12 as a more affordable version of the S10+. Posted at €299.99, this robot vacuum cleaner inevitably makes some concessions. So goodbye to the rotating skates in favor of a simple vibration mop with constant humidity. The navigation system still relies on a laser range finder and a squad of dedicated sensors, while the suction power remains at 4000 Pa. On the other hand, the battery capacity is lower: 3200mAh for an autonomy of approximately 130 minutes.

Finally, let’s conclude this overview with the E12, the cheapest model revealed today by Xiaomi. Suggested to €199.99the Xiaomi E12 brings together the essentials: a suction power of 4000Paan intelligent water tank to control the water level according to the soils, a gyroscope navigation systema vibration mop and a battery with a capacity of 2600mAh (i.e. approximately 110 minutes of autonomy). Of course, it will be necessary to compose without a dump station, the E12 being supplied only with a charging base.
