Controversial influencer Andrew Tate, and his brother Tristan, are under house arrest after three months in detention. They are accused of “sexual exploitation” of several women.

Andrew Tate is released from prison after three months in detention in Romania. The Bucharest public prosecutor’s office had proposed the extension of the imprisonment of the American-British influencer and his brother Tristan, but this point was rejected.

The two men are suspected of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized criminal group. Their preventive detention was replaced by house arrest.

Immediately released after this decision, the two men were cheered by fans of the influencer, who notably shouted “Top G”, his nickname referring to the word “gangster”.

Andrew Tate remained silent and let his brother speak. The latter stated that “judges [avaient] made the right decision.” Indeed, the two men had not ceased to proclaim their innocence since their imprisonment last December.

A strict house arrest

They are certainly released from prison, but the rules of their detention remain strict. They do not have the right to leave the country, nor to “get in touch with people involved in the case”, explained their lawyer, Eurgen Vidineac.

The latter also declared that there was no risk of flight from the two men, arguing that one of them had just become a father, and that “being on the run is not a life that the Tate brothers want. to have. They are just tired and want to rest.”
