On the eve of the demonstration on Wednesday March 15 against the pension reform, the police headquarters thus asked the Paris town hall to proceed with the collection of garbage and containers on the route of the procession.

PENSION REFORM – This is a traditional request from the police headquarters before a national demonstration: the removal of garbage cans, construction site equipment and other terrace furniture which could be used to erect barricades on the route of the procession or which could be set on fire.

But while the garbage collectors’ strike against the pension reform continues in Paris, this request takes on particular importance. On the eve of the demonstration on Wednesday March 15, the police headquarters thus asked the Paris town hall to proceed with the collection of garbage and containers on the route of the procession, according to information from BFMTV including The HuffPost has been confirmed. A heavy task: according to the latest count from the town hall of Paris on Monday, in the whole of the capital, 5,600 tonnes of garbage are accumulating on the sidewalks.

In total, some 5 km of roads will have to be cleared, as pointed out by the services of the prefect Laurent Nunez in a press release published on Tuesday March 14. “The demonstrators will leave the Esplanade des Invalides at 2 p.m., to reach the Place d’Italie at 7 p.m., via rue de Grenelle, boulevard des Invalides, boulevard du Montparnasse, boulevard de Port-Royal. »

In the same logic of securing the course, “private vehicles parked along the route or its surroundings will be subject to displacement measures”specifies the police headquarters.

For the eighth day of mobilization against the pension reform, the intersyndicale has chosen the date of the joint joint commission, made up of deputies and senators, which must agree on a text common to both chambers, before a final vote that the government hopes Thursday.
