Very close to following in the footsteps of Karim Benzema to join Saudi Arabia, N’Golo Kanté was flabbergasted by the contract offered by the Saudi emissaries.
The exodus of football stars to Saudi Arabia could be massive this summer. After Cristiano Ronaldo, who paved the way last winter, Karim Benzema in turn gave in to Saudi sirens and other players could follow since Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Angel Di Maria or Alexis Sanchez are thus announced in the viewfinder of the Gulf country. And this also applies to French players since Hugo Lloris and N’Golo Kanté are also courted.
And the Chelsea midfielder, at the end of his contract with the Blues, could well be the next to join the Saudi Pro League. On the shelves of several European leaders including FC Barcelona or PSG, the former Caennais seemed until recently to want to continue with Chelsea, but the offer from Saudi Arabia changed the situation.
His transfer completed within 48 hours?
The native of Suresnes was visited by Saudi emissaries on Tuesday and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, N’Golo Kanté was “blown away” by the proposal made by representatives of the Al-Ittihad club, where he could therefore find Karim Benzema. So much so that his signature could be completed within 48 hours! If the discussions are still to continue, the case has progressed (very) well and a verbal agreement has already been reached.
As announced since Tuesday by Fabrizio Romano, N’Golo Kanté could receive up to 100 million euros per season including image rights and various commercial agreements. His contract would be for two seasons.
