The stylist (@thehairgirlnz) shared five tips and tricks for healthy hair.
More specifically, she shared the five things that she would never do as someone who knows better.
“Number one, I would never wear my hair in a sleek bun or ponytail more than once in a blue moon,” she said.
“This can cause traction alopecia (hair loss caused by tugging of the hair), a receding hairline, and extreme breakage on the hair.”

Next, she revealed that she would never skip using heat protectants before applying heat.
“We all know what it’s like when we burn our skin, imagine what it’s doing to our hair if we’re not using thermal protection, you’re going to end up with some much breakage,” she warned.
She also recommended shampooing your hair at least twice a week in order to help with oiliness.
Another heat tip she had included using heat tools under 200 degrees in order to prevent irreversible damage to the hair.
Last but not least, she said that she would never use hair elastics on her hair every day because the thin hair ties will cause more breakage as opposed to claw clips that are not.
People took to the comments to share their thoughts.
Other hairdressers added their own tips in the comments: “I wash my hair every 10 days, use elastics, use a straightener, and curler and not protective,” said one commenter,
“I’m in my 30s and hair is lush,” they added.
The content creator was quick with a rebuttal, however.
“Girl, heat protectant, imagine how much more lush your hair would feel,” she said.
