The open-source Dev Home app gives you full control of your PC’s performance and settings on Windows 11 through an accessible graphical interface.
On Windows 11, if you’re into performance and control, there’s multiple ways to monitor your system activity ; through Task Manager or Resource Monitor, for example. This even without mentioning the many applications offered by component manufacturers, MSI Afterburner, for example. According to information collected by the NeoWin site, Windows 11 will soon offer widgets allowing you to control the parameters of the internal components of the PC through a more accessible interface.

These new widgets are especially aimed at developers and other performance fades. Indeed, they are currently only usable through the preview of the Dev Home command center. This centralized dashboard with customizable widgets allows you to “track your development projects, coding tasks, issues raised on GitHub and pull requests, available SSH connections as well as system settings in terms of CPU, GPU, memory and network “.

System temperature, memory and SSD utilization rate, configuration of the least component; all this data that you usually have to look for in Windows 11 Task Manager or on specialized software is now available at a glance. The control is so extensive that a widget is dedicated to graphics card on-the-fly change.
The good news is that it is not necessary to have subscribed to a beta or to the Windows Insider program for this preview feature and to take advantage of these new widgets. To benefit from these new widgets, here is the procedure to follow:
- meet on the Microsoft Store
- in the search bar, type “ DevHome »
- click on the Install button
- open Dev Home
- click on “+ Add Widget” to install the modules that interest you
