Djokovic continues on his way

Novak Djokovic was able to bring Marton Fucsovics into line after a stubborn first set to validate his ticket for the third round of Roland-Garros in three sets during the evening session.

Novak Djokovic will not be absent subscribers during the third round of Roland-Garros. Scheduled in the evening session on Court Philippe-Chatrier, the world number 3 was able to overcome Marton Fucsovics, Hugo Grenier’s scorer at the start of the fortnight. The Serb got off to a flying start with the break obtained from the Hungarian’s first engagement. However, after missing an opportunity to double the bet, Novak Djokovic was less serene on his serve. If he was able to dismiss four break points in the fifth game and then three more on his next engagement, the seeded number 3 of the French Open ended up giving in. By dint of insisting, Marton Fucsovics got what he was looking for and equalized at five games everywhere. After missing a set point on the commitment of the 83rd player in the world, Novak Djokovic was embarked on a decisive game which he knew how to start perfectly. In effect, after winning the first three points including two on the commitment of the Hungarian, the Serb raced in the lead and the first set point was the right one. After such a tight first run and concluded after 89 minutes, Novak Djokovic decided to pick up the pace and Marton Fucsovics could not keep up.

Djokovic had to work hard to conclude

Conceding only three points on his serve and converting his three break points, the world number 3 won five games in a row without firing a shot. At the time of conclusion, after missing a first set point, the Serb had to erase an opportunity to break for his opponent. However, the second opportunity to conclude was the right one. One set from victory, Novak Djokovic did not release the pressure and this resulted in a white break from the first game. Not wanting to give in without a fight, Martin Fucsovics immediately responded to return to two games everywhere . Nevertheless, the 83rd in the world could not continue its momentum. Intractable, the world number 3 won four games in a row to offer himself the opportunity to conclude the match on his face-off. The Hungarian then let go of his blows and did not let the Serb achieve his ends so easily , erasing one of his two late breaks. But, in the process, Novak Djokovic accelerated again and was able to end the suspense with his second match point on his opponent’s service (7-6, 6-0, 6-3 in 2h47 ‘). For a place in the round of 16, the world number 3 will find Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who beat Luca Van Assche earlier in the day.
