Traveling once in a lifetime in first class on a prestigious airline is the dream of many travelers who are passionate (or not) about aviation. An impossible dream for ordinary mortals given the prices charged? Not so sure ! A stewardess just shared a great tip for getting a first-class seat on your next flight. All for free!

@Cierra_mist is an air hostess who is particularly active on social networks where she shares her little tips, her rants against certain unscrupulous passengers and reveals some secrets about airlines… In a recent video, viewed more than 150 000 times on her TikTok account, she announces cash: “Here’s how to get a free first class seat on your next flight.”

The first advice may seem incongruous but it is decisive: choose your seat carefully. Most companies offer this option (sometimes paying) but it can pay off big according to her. “You might think it’s very strange,” she admits before explaining why. “On flights that aren’t full, we have to move passengers for weight and balance reasons, and when we do, it’s usually back to front.” Logical, since it is then a question of better distributing the masses of the plane.

Yes, but what’s the point of sitting in the back? Just to be moved! “If that’s the case, the flight attendants will choose the people at the very back so they can sit there after their service.” Logical according to this air hostess who recalls: “it is much more comfortable to sit on these seats than on the booster seat”, usually reserved for flight personnel. You must have already seen them, they are those near the toilets or the cockpit and which have special belts. And the hostess assures us, the passengers thus moved regularly end up in first class…

Another trick is more common but also less pleasant. The stewardess thus encourages passengers who are not particularly in a hurry to be voluntary in the event of overbooking. “If you’re on a full flight, listen for gate agents announcing that the flight is overbooked and they need volunteers to be reassigned.” It is then time to report and take the bet. “When the agent reassigns you to the next flight, make sure they put you in first class to make up for the time lost because you were dropped from your flight.” Does this seem surprising or even impossible to you? The stewardess assures him: “It works more than 99% of the time.”
