Fresh parsley can keep for more than a day or two.
But when you have a lot of it, it’s better to keep it longer.
Fortunately, there are effective grandmother’s tricks to better preserve fresh herbs.
With our 2 conservation tips, discover the different ways to keep it fresh longer.
1. The towel
Spread a little napkin on the table plan. Wash the parsley, drain it and lay it on the towel, spreading the sprigs well.
Fold the napkin like a “roll” cake and store it in the refrigerator. The fabric will absorb excess moisture.
As soon as you need herbs for the kitchen you help yourself, then you roll up the towel again. Kept like this, parsley holds up well more than a week.
2. The glass of water
If you plan to consume parsley quickly, this is the easiest way to hold the herbs. Put your bunch of parsley (with stems) in a glass or bowl filled with fresh water in the refrigerator and be sure to change the liquid daily.
Parsley will not fade from the first day, you can flavor your potatoes, salads, homemade omelettes and other dishes during several days.
There you go, you know how to store your parsley easily 🙂
No more waste!
Of course, there is freezing to keep the herbs fresh, but that can be an added expense.
If you don’t have Tupperware, you will have to buy some or take freezer bags. Count at least 2 € of investment. Certainly it is not much, but if we can save them, it is not bad either.
Our tips allow you to store parsley with what you already have at home: a napkin or a container. It’s easy, it goes fast, we don’t spend a penny and we like that!
